The word has got around that I’m crazy about self-employment. But what exactly makes me think that starting up my own business is such a great step?
Here is a personal summary of the most important reasons why you should set up your own business.
One Life – One Chance
Even if many do not want to admit it – we are not immortal. Therefore it is important in this life to take the chance and do exactly what we love. But in an employment relationship this is often difficult. Here it is usually not about realising one’s own dreams, but the dreams of the owners and investors. Having your own company gives you the opportunity to do exactly what you want.
You never stop learning
As an entrepreneur you are responsible for your own actions. In order to be successful, it is therefore essential to stand up and learn to deal with challenges. This kind of learning is really great. You develop in different areas and this enriches your life.
The sky is the limit
Being an entrepreneur is often certainly not easy – but unlike being an employee, you can profit 100% from your success. Even high financial goals can be achieved with the right strategy and work.
Living your own values
In einem Angestelltenverhältnis muss man oft die Firmenphilosophie nach außen tragen, obwohl man vielleicht nicht damit einverstanden ist- Als Unternehmer kann man diese Philosophie selbst definieren und diese Werte tagtäglich leben.
You learn a lot about yourself
Entrepreneurship makes your own strengths and weaknesses transparent. You can feel where the limits are and where you can work on yourself. The great thing is that you can also orientate your life according to these weaknesses and strengths.
You save a lot of time
Self-employment saves time, because you can do many things while others are working. If you work from home, you also save on commuting time.
You save money
And in addition to time, you also save a lot of money. On the one hand, you can suddenly run various costs through the company (e.g. telephone, computer) and thus save taxes. If you work at home, there are no commuting costs and you can cook your own lunch.
You get to know many people
As an entrepreneur there is no way around networking. In the process, you get to know many like-minded people and exciting contacts. This often leads to enriching discussions and cooperation.
Besides these reasons, there are of course countless other advantages of self-employment. But to list them all would go beyond the scope of this article. So if you are not yet standing on your own entrepreneurial feet, then now is the time to get up and tackle the matter.
